About Brisc

Built by insurance operators. Independent on purpose.

Brisc builds insurance-native AI Analysts for the delegated-authority back office: reconciliation, bordereaux, submissions, and claims. Founded and run by the people on this page, self-funded, and in production today.

Why Brisc exists

Insurance operations weren't built to scale this way

Delegated authority is growing faster than the operations behind it. AM Best reports that 70% of rated carriers expect to increase premium through delegated-authority channels.

  • Manual everywhere. Submission intake by hand, claims triage from the inbox.
  • Weeks behind. Bordereaux reconciliation runs on monthly spreadsheets.
  • Growth breaks it. Every program adds bank accounts, formats, and remittance patterns the launch-day process can't absorb.

Brisc adds intelligence to the workflows you already run, alongside the systems you already have.

Our approach

Three commitments we run the company on

Outcomes over features

We measure hours saved, errors caught, and premium recovered; an Analyst that misses 30-day ROI gets fixed.

Work with what you have

Brisc works inside your existing email, Excel, shared drives, and systems of record, with no rip-and-replace.

Trust is earned, not claimed

Every extraction, match, and triage decision traces to source documents; your team reviews exceptions.

The controls behind that trust: SOC 2 Type II, isolated Azure tenancy, maker-checker approvals, and an exportable per-match audit trail. See the security page and trust.brisc.ai.

Common questions

About Brisc, answered

Who founded Brisc AI?

Brisc was founded by Sanjay Malhotra, a second-time founder. He co-founded and was CTO of Clearbridge Mobile, bootstrapped it without outside capital, and sold it to Amdocs in 2021. Before Clearbridge he consulted for insurance organizations including Tokio Marine and Alea Insurance Group.

Is Brisc venture-backed?

No. Brisc is self-funded from the Clearbridge exit, with no PE or VC on the cap table. That is deliberate: a self-funded company survives on customers and builds what customers pull. Any future raise will be to go faster for customers, not to keep the lights on.

Where is Brisc headquartered?

Brisc is headquartered in Toronto, Canada, with team members and advisory relationships across North America, Bermuda, and London, the major specialty and reinsurance markets the platform serves.

What security and compliance does Brisc hold?

Brisc is SOC 2 Type II and operates in line with GDPR and CCPA. Each customer deployment runs in an isolated tenant on Microsoft Azure, your data never trains shared models, and every match carries an exportable audit trail. Full documentation lives at trust.brisc.ai and on the security page.

What insurance lines does Brisc support?

Brisc primarily serves property and casualty insurance operations, with particular strength in specialty, surplus, and program business. The platform supports delegated-authority operations across Bermuda, London, US, and international markets, including property, casualty, professional lines, and multi-line programs.

Who advises Brisc?

Brisc's advisory bench includes Claude Lefebvre (co-founder of Helix Underwriting Partners, former CUO Casualty & Specialty at Hamilton Re, Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society), Sam Thomsen (CEO of Blue Island Technology, former SVP and head of technology at Hamilton Re), Jonathan Victor (COO of Insurity), Ray Adamson (30+ years across insurance and insurtech go-to-market), and Patrick Lewis (16 years leading commercial P&C claims and operations in the Canadian market, most recently at Allstate Canada). Together they bring decades of experience spanning underwriting, actuarial science, core systems, claims, operations, and go-to-market.
